BYU football and men’s basketball will always eat first in the fan conversation. That is normal. It is also not the whole athletic department.

The Cougars have a lot happening in men’s Olympic sports, and BYU Sport Nuts now has a better structure for following those teams without making fans start from scratch every time.

The expanded men’s side now includes roster, schedule, results, and tracker pages for cross country, golf, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, and men’s volleyball.

For launch, that matters as much for search as it does for service. A fan searching for a BYU golfer, distance runner, libero, setter, sprinter, or tennis player should not have to guess which official page has the right roster. The site can point them to the right hub first, then add the fan explanation around why that name or weekend matters.

Start with the new hubs

The new pages are live here:

Each sport now has the same basic set of fan tools: the team hub, a roster page, a schedule page, a results page, a standings or season-tracker page, and individual player pages.

That does not mean every page is finished forever. It means the map exists.

It also keeps the coverage trademark-safe and source-clean. These pages lean on public facts, schedules, rosters, and original context — not official BYU photos, copied bios, or marks used as site identity.

Men’s volleyball is the easiest bridge

If there is one sport in this group that BYU fans already know how to follow, it is men’s volleyball.

The program has history, a real fan base, and a schedule that feels closer to the game-by-game rhythm fans recognize from football and basketball. A dedicated men’s volleyball schedule and roster make that coverage easier to build around.

Now, when BYU has a big weekend or a ranking-relevant stretch, the article can link readers straight into the team context.

That is the difference between a one-off note and a useful archive. If men’s volleyball has a ranked matchup, a setter change, or a tournament path worth tracking, readers should be one tap away from the roster and schedule instead of stranded inside a recap.

Track and cross country need context

Distance sports can be harder to follow casually because athletes move between cross country and track, and the biggest moments are often meets instead of single head-to-head games.

That is exactly why the new pages help. A reader can see the men’s cross country roster, jump to men’s track and field, and start learning which names carry across seasons.

The next layer should be athlete-focused stories: who is returning, who is emerging, and which meets actually tell us something about postseason potential.

Tennis, golf, and swimming deserve clean paths too

Tennis, golf, and swimming can disappear from the casual fan feed if the site only chases the obvious traffic sports.

The new hubs give each one a stable home:

Those pages let us write shorter, more useful updates. A tennis recap can point to the roster. A golf preview can point to the tournament schedule. A swimming note can point readers to the athlete list and upcoming meets.

The coverage promise

The site should not just say it covers BYU sports. It should actually give fans places to click.

This update is the first pass at that for the men’s Olympic sports. The pages are live, the schedules are wired, and the next step is adding more regular stories so these sections do not feel like empty shelves.

That is the standard: roster pages for reference, schedule pages for following along, results pages for catching up, and articles that make the whole thing feel alive.

Sources and page notes

This guide is based on the official BYU Athletics sport pages and public roster/schedule data, including BYU men’s volleyball, BYU men’s cross country, BYU men’s track and field, BYU men’s tennis, BYU men’s golf, and BYU men’s swimming and diving.

The site pages are meant to make those official facts easier for Cougar fans to navigate, then give us a better foundation for regular stories as each season gets moving.
